Horiens participates in the meeting Minds of Energy promoted by IBP

The meeting Minds of Energy, periodically promoted by the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP) especially for young professionals, counted with the participation of Rafael Souza, Horiens’ director of risk and insurance for the oil and gas market, in its last edition of 2022, held on 12/7.
With the theme “Risk Management in the Oil and Gas Market”, Rafael discussed the main stages of this process in companies, as well as tools, references, cases, best practices, and insurance programs applicable to the segment.
About 25 young professionals attended this edition of Minds of Energy, which works as a space for discussions, learning, and knowledge exchange among the participants.
“Initiatives like these are an opportunity for young people who work or are interested in working in the energy sector, with a focus on oil and gas. Besides, they help to give more visibility to the segment for those who are starting their careers, disseminating the risk and insurance culture”, he adds.
In his presentation, Rafael stressed the importance of developing a risk management culture in companies. “Too often risk management can be seen as a process that brings barriers for the commercial areas of companies to get a project up and running. It is important to demystify this,” explains Rafael. “Having a formal risk management structure in the companies and the involvement of top management are key factors to achieve the desired results and objectives,” he adds.
