Continuing the campaign “Health. I share”, in commemoration of World Health Day April 7th, Horiens promoted, on April 10, a live about life quality with Denise Cavalcante, occupational physician and coordinator of Occupational Health at Novonor, and with guest nurse Thais Marquezoni.

According to Denise, although the subject of quality of life is very much talked about, there are many fads on the networks. This is why the objective, according to her, was to bring information to the members with a more technical approach. “People may feel that they don’t need to attend events like this because they believe that there is already a lot of information available on the Internet. What motivates us to approach this subject today is to bring technical knowledge in a way that people can understand,” said Denise at the opening of the live.

In the sequence, Thais Marquezoni presented the concept of quality of life according to the World Health Organization and highlighted the main associated factors: the Being, which involves physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects; the Belonging, associated with social and coexistence issues; and the Becoming, which covers actions aimed at personal progress. “Here we are looking at quality of life as a whole and not just as a healthy body and a functioning mind. From the moment I evaluate my quality of life and see that there is something to be improved, it is necessary to make a behavioral change,” he commented.

According to the nurse, the five parameters that characterize the different lifestyles are eating habits, physical activity, stress control, relationships, and preventive behavior. For Thais, many people end up forgetting about prevention when they focus too much on the search for a healthy life. “People who eat well and practice regular physical activities are also the ones who forget the sunscreen when exposed to the sun, or even who stop wearing their seatbelts,” he pointed out.

“Having a correct posture in the work environment, such as wearing Personal Protective Equipment when necessary, is one way of prevention. The use of condoms, not driving under the influence of alcohol, avoiding the use of tobacco, annual check-ups with consultations and routine exams, all of this is included in the preventive behaviors”, Thais added.

And remember: All habits that improve the quality of life can and should be shared. Have you ever noticed that when you take care of yourself, you inspire others to do the same?
